Policy Changes at W Hotel
As of Nov 1, 2024 the administration of the W Hotel, Panama City has decided to limit access to escorts. Guests of the hotel will now have to pay $100 per guest and it will be limited to 1 invitee per room. Trying to pay off the security will not work and any promoters who are telling you they have a special hook up are lying. All promoter contracts that waived these fees have been cancelled as well. Airport Transfer Costs & Options
Whatever you do, never get a yellow taxi. Uber costs have increased. Your standard smaller car UberX will run around $28 now and your larger version is going for $55. Pre-arrange your sedan chauffeur from $45 if you want the more premium experience.
For the shoestring traveller - the Metro (aka subway) has officially linked to the airport so for a minimal cost of a few dollars, a couple transfers, you can end up downtown within about an hour.
Habanos - Escort Pickup Bar - Immigration Raids
There has been a lot of heat on this place recently with immigration raids showing up and taking girls and tourists (without passport in hand) off for processing. What is the most infamous bar in Panama City, is being reduced to low budget street girls hanging around. Top quality has gotten spooked and going around elsewhere.
